Happy Birthday, America!

We, on this continent, should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs,
but to secure liberty for their souls.
~Robert J. McCracken
Where liberty dwells, there is my country.
~Benjamin Franklin
All we have of freedom, all we use or know;
This our fathers bought for us long and long ago.
~Rudyard Kipling, The Old Issue, 1899
From every mountainside, Let Freedom ring.
~Samuel F. Smith, "America"
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
~Lee Greenwood

Happy 4th of July to you all! And a huge thank you to all the brave men and women who serve our country, and for the sacrifices their families make...

  16. Love the postcards! Love the Lee Greenwood song too. Two friends of mine were near LA at a convention during 9/11, and that same week after all the tragedy, they actually had Lee Greenwood sing at the convention. I don't think the song ever had so much meaning as it did in the days following 9/11. My friends were certainly moved and he brought the house down.
