Even though we live within an hour of the ocean, I don't really decorate with a beach theme or decor...
... with the exception of this oil painting...
It gives a pop of color to an otherwise (somewhat bland) white-on-white bathroom.
I just have it propped up on this storage cabinet. I love the added charm of the unfinished stapled sides...
I wanted to share it on Blue Monday because of the incredibly beautiful blues in the sky and ocean... (which definitely vary depending on my camera setting and the natural light/overhead light)...
Thank you for letting me share my Blue Monday item with you. Please stop by Smiling Sally's blog to see her post and to find a list of all the other Blue Monday participants!
Happy Blue Monday!
Happy Blue Monday!
Donna
Oh this really is lovely! It has the most beautiful colors in it.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I saw your Battenburg lace shower curtain. I have one just like it, but its not the one I have hanging now. Great minds think alike!

Oooo Donna! That is one very pretty painting. It reminds me of my "favorite place" up on the Central Coast...
ReplyDeleteHave a happy blue Monday
How beautiful, Donna! I love your seagulls in the background, and I adore New England, particularly the Vineyard and Nantucket. I am going to post some pictures of my cousin's former home in the Vineyard at some point. Check back with me to see them. He's an architect in DC and bought this house to lease and then eventually sell. I was very said when he sold it because it was so comfortable and wonderful, but he bought something else. I just hope the something else is as wonderful as what he sold. LOL!
ReplyDeleteTake care and thanks for dropping by my blog!
XO,
Sheila... who wants to hop around your wonderful blog when my eyes aren't open with toothpics. ;-)
Hi, Donna! Someone I know needs to go to bed, and that someone is me! I just made a blooper and posted the post for this down below. How I did that is anyone's guess. Have been having computer issues all night (again, probably me), and I have been saving what I write. Anyhow, I will post it again here in the proper place if that's suitable to you...

I can hear the ocean too! Beautiful painting. I love that you left it just the way it is!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous painting! there is something quite inspiring about birds in flight! And lovely tones of blue!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I live about 15-20 mins from the beach and don't really decorate in a beach theme either. I never have. Except I do have some shells around so maybe that counts huh? LOL
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne
That's a beautiful painting and, like you, I think the impact is stronger with it unframed...

I think that this is a lovely painting. That's luxury to have an oil painting in a bathroom; I hope the moisture doesn't ruin it. Happy Blue Monday!
ReplyDeleteThe painting is stunning...it is soft and yet bright in its own way, and it has a pleasing composition.
ReplyDeletePerfect for your bathroom and yes I can hear the ocean.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
LeAnn:)

What a lovely combination, chickee! White is soooo soothing and the punch of the colors of the ocean is just soft enough to make a statement.....

Hi Donna! I love your white on white bathroom and that oil painting is just perfect sitting there. Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful painting. I too thought I could hear some sea gulls calling.
ReplyDeleteThe artist really caught the beach atmosphere and the gulls in flight. Doesn't beg a frame, lovely the way it is.
ReplyDeleteThat is just beautiful, and the way it changes with the light are reflective of the ocean's changing "moods."
ReplyDeleteI can hear the gulls calling! I love seagulls. Happy Blue Monday!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture and room
ReplyDelete...and the little mouse below is darling (:)
hugs Patty
It is perfect just as it is, and yes, I can hear the ocean if I close my eyes and drift....
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty picture...really pretty... I was thinking I can just hear the seagulls...and then your music came on and I did hear the seagulls..*s*..
