My thoughts & prayers go out to our friends in Australia

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of our Australian friends. The suffering, loss of life, and destruction due to the wildfires is almost incomprehensible.

Firefighter David Tree offers water to an injured koala. You can click here to read about this touching photo. May God bless and protect all firefighters, wherever their work takes them. They are true heroes.

  1. Thanks for your thoughts. I don't live in Victoria but it's all over the news everyday and we are all just shocked and devastated. It makes it more clear when you see the photos and read the stories of the poor people who got caught in it. I realised today why we were only seeing the same photos of victims everywhere...they lost everything. One girl who lost her parents said she has no photos at all of them because they were all burned up.

It's like a war zone...dead bodies just lying on the sides of the road and whole families found dead in their cars. Horrible. I get so emotional when I see the news but it's like 9/11.. I just have to keep watching it to help process and understand it.

  2. Hi, my name is Starry and I took my first look at your blog through EdieMarie's Attic. As an Australian and someone who has family living in the fire zone it is lovely to know that people aroung the world care and are aware of what is happening. I am very happy to have heard from my brother last night, it had been some days since we were able to make contact, his partner had evacuated and my brother who had gone to cut the grass at their other property was cut off by the fire, thank goodness all are safe and sound for now. The past few days not knowing was just the worst, as you can imagine.
Thank you so much for your prayers, it is wonderful how blogging makes the world much smaller and cosier.
my best wishes to you, Starry

  3. I couldn't agree more. That photo is so touching. I'll make sure we say prayers for all who are affected by this great tragedy. Fire is so devastating... it takes so long for the land to recover. So,,"May God be with all those in Austrailia.. human and animal and protect and watch over them".. blessings to all.

  4. It has been very hard to watch on TV and even harder to think it may have been arson. My heart goes out to Australia. Cindy

  9. Hi Donna

I feel the same about Australia, it's just unbelieveable how bad it has been and that the fires were started on purpose just makes it even worse.

Thanks so much for your comment and for visiting my blog by the way, I've just been enjoying your prisms and rainbows, they are lovely :)
