Autumn in New England...

The colors of autumn are upon us here in New England, even in our own little yard...

Pumpkins and mums have replaced the blooms of summer...

The vinca vine continues to grow like crazy, though, thriving despite the bitter autumn nights...

Sprigs of autumn leaves have been tucked among the few remaining impatiens...

... who have refused to give in to the increasingly cold temperatures...

"Jenny" and her friend have taken over the Adirondack chairs, and more autumn leaves sprout from clay pots where summer flowers once put on a show...

Wishing you all a delightful autumn and Halloween!!
Donna

  1. I love those Adirondack chairs! And the sweet little window box. Not cold here yet. Still in shorts and a t-shirt. But then I'm usually wearing those when everyone else is sporting long sleeves! Happy Autumn!

  2. Hi Donna, I love New England. We visit at least once a year some friends in New Hampshire. But here in Southcentral PA I swear I'm in New England. Our summer was cool unusually cool, and now it feels like winter has arrived already. Its been raining for 3 days now, and its cold. We are having a beautiful fall. When I go driving I wish I have my camera with me, with the gorgeous foliage here. I'll have to post that this week. I enjoy your blog.

  8. My vinca vine keeps hanging in there, too! The impatiens on the porch are still going strong, though a bit ragged. I cross my fingers every evening that I might have one more day of my flowers! I guess it is supposed to warm up this week - and I must say I'm looking forward to it!

  9. I love your fall decor. I really like the way you hung the window pane in your fence with the flowerbox.....I have the same kind of fence, I may have to copy that idea. :o) Sue
