Or in this case...
... where's Baby?
Just like her big sister, Tiger, way back in 1994...
(btw, Tiger is now 21 years old and still going strong!)...
... Baby has discovered, and developed a fondness for ...
... the highest spot in the house.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised...
Norwegian Forest cats love to climb and be up high according to every article I've ever read, including this one,
"One thing that is an absolute necessity if you own a Forest Cat is some kind of climbing device. They like to be up high to survey their kingdom."
And this one:
"Norwegian Forest Cats love to be up high, and appreciate a cat tree or somewhere they can roost."
I'm actually surprised it took this long for her to discover the beams. We're going to try to rearrange some of the furniture to hopefully discourage this habit. As much as she loves being sooooo high, it makes me a nervous wreck, worrying about her falling.
While taking photos of Baby, I decided to take a few photos of our little backyard through the FR windows.
The the trees are almost completely bare of all their leaves...
... except for a few hardy survivors...
... who continue to hang on, probably until our next rain or wind storm.
At least there's not been any snow yet!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
The view through your FR windows really IS "enchanting"!
ReplyDeleteAwww...That is one sweet BABY. We had a Maine Coon and he also LOVED to be up in the air. He could stand beside the refrigerator and in one bound leap straight up on top of it. What a fun post here today- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLoved your pictures of those high wire cats! But I would worry about falls too.
ReplyDeleteOne year, our "Orangey" hopped up on the mantle on Christmas eve and systematically knocked down every single nutcracker while we laughed ourselves silly under the influence of several glasses of nice wine!
And I have often freaked out at the sound of an ominous "thump" when I'm home alone. My Charlie loves to climb the bookcase and push heavy volumes off one at a time!
Looking at the second photo....how does she get up there? I love it, my Mother had a cat who would jump on a tall book case and then jump on unsuspecting shoulders as they passed by.......
ReplyDeleteHi Donna....Lovely photos. Imagine that baby! What a little acrobat, climbing wayyyyyy up there. What a riot.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is good, too. Susan
Hi!i haven't seen much from you in a while. Was there a change? I so enjoy your posts and this one is no exception. And I love, love Baby's antics!
ReplyDeleteI'd be a nervous wreck if my cats had that beam to climb up onto! They would do it too just to see me squirm.
ReplyDeleteI would be nervous too, though she looks like a regal queen up there :)
ReplyDeleteGood grief, I think that would really make me nervous! That is WAY up there!
ReplyDeleteBaby looks so content up there! I bet is also one of the warmest places in the house because hot air rises. Cats love a warm spot! What a gorgeous cat!
ReplyDeleteI'd be nervous, too! That Baby - she's a bit of a scamp, isn't she?

Wow! How in the world did Baby get up there?! Two of my cats like to jump from a side table up onto the china cabinet (the other cat is too old now)...I wonder if they'd jump up onto a beam if they had the chance?!

I would be a nervous wreck too! I am sure she is very graceful like most cats but that perch is really high!
ReplyDeleteI did not know she was a Norwegian Forest Cat. She is beautiful!!!
I won't be long before she is climbing the Christmas tree!
