Cindy from My Romantic Home has initiated a fun little blogpost idea... She's asking anyone who would like to join in to post about "their favorite thing."
Now I have lots of sentimental favorites, like my girls' artwork or my Nana's china (that I just posted about), so I thought I'd put sentimentality aside and just pick a 'fun' favorite... my mini-collection (I only have two!) of vintage tin wastebaskets!! Here's the old green one, which gets moved around quite a bit. Right now it sits next to the TV armoire, but as you can see from my blog banner, it also sometimes sits in front of the fireplace!!
And this sweet little pink one now sits in my office and is actually being used as (of all things!) ... a trashcan! But as you can see from the photo, for a while it held my vintage chenille scatter rugs until that collection outgrew the trash can!!
So if you'd like to share your favorite "thing" or favorite "collection," click on the photo above and join in the fun!!! Cindy will be listing any participating blogs from now through Sunday, the 27th. Thanks, Cindy!! Fun idea!!!
And if you'd like to see a bit more of my blog, you can click here!

Your collection brings back memories for me. My grandma had a pretty waste can in her bathroom, much like yours. What a treasure!

I love the vintage tin wastebasket. The flowers are a nice touch. You have me hooked with the Sound of Music "Favorite Things" playing on your blog. That's one of my favorite movies.
ReplyDeleteYour blog has been fun to visit.
Oh, I don't have one of those! I'm not sure I've seen one either. Very nice indeed. Thanks for coming over for a visit. By the way, I lived in MA for 5 years and vacationed there for 3 more. Love it! Where do you live? I lived in Northborough.

Your wastecans are so pretty. I remember those from my Grandma's house. Nothing like the plastic things we have today!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty little waste cans. And I like how you move them around for all the different spaces to enjoy from time to time.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful!!!! What a lovely way to throw things away....I would be tossing things all day just to look at these!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour items are just so pretty. I love the chabby chic look it sets off. Very pretty and pink!

I love the wastebaskets! I had buyers remorse once because I saw a similar wastecan in an antique store but it was a tad on the pricey side, so I went home to think about it. When I went back, someone else had already snatched it up. Oh well. It was sure fun seeing yours though!

I love the trash cans! I've been on the hunt for them for quite a while!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI have a black one but have been keeping my eye out for a pastel!
Nikki
Wow, those cans remind me of my grandma's house!! I think she had a few in black scattered all around her home!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sher
They definitely do not make wastebaskets as pretty and quaint anymore. Love your collection and will check back with your blog in days to come!
ReplyDeleteYou've unearthed a memory for me. I can remember my grandmother having a wastebasket similar to yours. I must have been very young when I noticed it, as I was just four years old when she passed.
ReplyDeleteThey truly are lovely.
Hello, Donna. Thanks for stopping by @ my new place. It's nice meeting you.
ReplyDeleteYour treasures are adorable. Sooo shabby.
I'm sorry about your cat. My Floppy is getting older... all he does is sleep but he still plays with the little one...
Ciao!
I like the vintage trash cans, too. I think your florals are decoupage, right? I have one that's a wonderful vintage green with tole painted roses.
