... all because of this magazine... (isn't that the cutest little Chip on the cover??)
The Summer 2008 issue of "allanimals" (published by the Humane Society of the United States) arrived in my mailbox last month, and while flipping through it, I found the home & garden that I was certain existed only in my dreams...
Isn't this the most peaceful painting? Heaven on earth! So thanks to the incredibly talented illustrator/artist, Andrew Hutchinson, I am packing my bags and I'm off to find this tranquil little piece of Eden... (Of course I'm only kidding, but I can still dream, right??)
Update to comments... Okay, you guys have got me in stitches! Truth be told, I could do without Mr. Slithers, too, but I'm going to pretend he's the nice 'garden variety' snake that is beneficial to a backyard and would never think of harming one of my Chips or Sammy Squirrels! Joanne, make up the spare bedroom for me... Since you already bought the place, I'm coming to visit!! And thank you for the animal lover/pet friendly comments! You're all my kind of people!!
Donna
that is a dream backyard...
ReplyDeleteSorry Donna but that house is not available any more. I already moved in.... how I wish I could.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne
If only such a place existed. It is a beautiful dream.

You want to live with snakes?!?!?! Ewwwww, honey chick!! It is a beautiful illustration though. I can see why you love it.

Love the picture by artist Andrew Hutchinson. The bad thing about deer in the yard though is that they always want to eat my flowers. Why can't my deer behave like the one in the picture and just eat the grass.

ReplyDeleteHi, this is my first visit; thebrendablog sent me here because she knows I LOVE animals and she wanted me to see your beautiful banner with your Mrs B! I agree, it is awesome.
I stayed and read some about your beautiful adopted furry friends. By the time I got halfway through, I was crying like a mad woman. It is so wonderful to see that you have had so many little furry blessings; I'm glad to see other people showing kindness to animals, bless you!
I will be back to visit more later, but I love your "pet friendly" blog!
Whatever the Humane Society is advocating, I'm in. I so worry, being here in East Texas, about the stranded pets and animals during this hurricane season.

Ummm, yes, lovely. Except for the slithering black reptile which appears ready to take down poor Chip in the blink of an eye. lol Sorry, I don't do snakes.
ReplyDeleteIt truly would be the perfect painting...minus the serpent of course. ;-)

What a great place to live! In a Dream... : )
ReplyDeletePretty picture!

Such a pretty dream garden, Donna! I'd pass on having a snake too, but I'd keep the other animals!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pat
That's so how I want my garden to look like, but at the moment it's a huge tangled mess of Cat's claw creeper and other ill-advised plants. It was pretty neglected by the previous owner and the wilds of the abandoned house next door has encroached along our border. I have carved out one little niche of cottage garden prettiness to keep me going while I slowly try to restore some order.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful painting. Andrew Hutchinson has certainly captured a little piece of heaven!
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish!
ReplyDeleteM ^..^
That is sure a beautiful garden! I would love one just like that too. Makes me wonder if it is a painting of an actual place! Wouldn't that be fun!
