Fresh strawberries are once again making a regular appearance in the supermarket produce section. It's like seeing an old friend again after a long absence...
I enjoy the ritual of preparing them to go into the fridge... First, rinsing them in the colander...
...and then carefully hulling them so I only remove the stems (I don't want to waste a single morsel by removing too much!!)...
A bowl of cereal tastes sooooooooo good when topped with fresh strawberries (or blueberries!)... Cereal is both a breakfast and snack food in our house... and the fresh fruit adds so much to it!! Yummy!
Also, just a quick reminder that today is the last day....
... to enter my "1 year blog anniversary giveaway" (click photo to go to entry the entry post).... Good luck to everyone who entered! I'll be announcing the winner in the next day or two!

You are so right, there is nothing like seeing all the wonderful fresh fruit popping up in the store again.
ReplyDeleteI love cereal and I love strawberries but funny I don't like them together. Never have liked any fruit in my cereal unless it comes with it already in there. I'm strange! I know.
Oh I hope my name comes up so badly on your giveaway. You have no idea how much I want to win! So you must stop asking people to enter as it lowers my chance to win. LOL
Big hugs,
Joanne
Strawberries are the greatest! I just Love your blog. I find new things everytime I visit. Your pet rescues on your side bar are just great. All three of my babies are adopted from shelters or rescues. And they are "Perfect". I will visit often!

I so agree, the strawberry harvest now is delicious. And the rich red color. Even my little parakeet is enjoying one a day. It's nice to taste spring.
ReplyDeleteBreakfast looks delicious!
Oh fresh fruit! I love how it smells, I love how it looks, I love how it tastes! YUM! Strawberries are an absolute favorite.
ReplyDeleteOur favorite country market is opening next Monday, the 6th after being closed for the winter... can't wait for all their fresh, local fruits and veggies.... mmmm

Those strawberries look delish! Gosh! I better go see if I remembered to sign up for your blogoversary! You signed up for mine, too right? Today is the last day. :)
ReplyDeleteStrawberries just scream spring, don't they? And, yes, cereal does double duty at our house, too. Actual triple duty, it is breakfast, snack food, and sometimes even dinner!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike -- I bought a box of strawberries yesterday and had some for breakfast with my bagel this morning. It definitely tasted like spring!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog so much!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for entering my name in your give-away!!!
