We're only on about a 1/3 acre lot, but there's a lot of color going on in our small yard...
Come on along and I'll show you some of it...
The backyard is ablaze with yellows, oranges, and reds.
Our sweet Suchi (Sooshi), who appears in my sidebar, is buried back here...
Every time we dig a hole to plant something, we find BIG rocks so over the years we've (and by we I mean hubby) built a meandering stonewall of sorts...
I actually don't use this birdfeeder anymore...
... but it's never been taken down. I truly like the convenience of the screen feeder off the dining room window (no trudging through the snow to fill it!)
I love our birch trees....
Fungus? Fungii?
One leaf hanging on ....
From behind the stone wall...
The girls thought this small strip of trees along our property line was a huge forest when they were little... They spent lots of time playing in there... And that's where our Suchi is now buried...
Spectacular! laurie
ReplyDeleteIt looks very pretty in your part of New England. It is nice here in my part of New England also. I think the foliage has been prettiest this past week. We got two nice days too but it was cooler and cloudy yesterday. I'm not sure what is in store for today...snow?
ReplyDeleteI love looking at the fall colors also. Come on over and view my colors at Lakewood. I hurried out and took some pics, too, cause the weather was to change very quickly.
ReplyDeleteLiving it up at Lakewood,
Cindy
Hi Donna!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall photos! You're becoming quite the photographer!! The leaves are at peak in Ohio right now and I LOVE it. So gorgeous. It's like a lovely water color that God has painted to delight us with.
My son had a dog named Sooshi too. She was a little Dachsund and so adorable. She was hit by a car & it's life cut short - a big loss! I was so comforted to see your Sooshi's place of rest.
Hugs, sherry
Your yard looks beautiful, Donna! Love all the golds of Autumn and of course, your birch tree. Birches may be my favorite - they remind me of Northern Michigan, where I spent a great deal of time.
ReplyDeleteIt was in the high 70's here in Wilmington yesterday but I think the temp has dropped about 20 degrees!

Nice pictures. I felt like I was along on your walk.

Hello, Donna! Thanks for the tour - this is my absolute favorite time of year! I say, the cooler the better! Your backyard is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHello Donna, your Autumn leaves in your yard are stunning... I cannot get enough of the Autumn colors... I too would think that was an enchanted woods there, and how sweet your precious pet is layed to rest there in such a serene, beautiful spot... Bisous... Julie Marie

ReplyDeleteHi Donna!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH for stopping by and for your sweet comments. That means the world to me. I'm thrilled to have found a kindred spirit like you!
Very pretty Donna. I think we have hit peak foliage this weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt is so gorgeous all around. You have some beautiful trees in your yard.
I gave you an award, come to my blog to get it. If you don't want to participate it's ok.
Oh, I'd love to have all those glorious fall colors in my yard! So beautiful! That bird feeder probably keeps some little birdies dry when it's raining or snowing. So likely is serving a purpose for wildlife!

It's beautiful Donna. I would like to just say to my child let's go on a road trip! We are going to go down past the lake tomorrow....should be pretty.
ReplyDeleteSigh, looks just like Canada. And Minnesota for that matter. Hubby and I find it hard to be away during Fall. Thanks for sharing such beautiful pics!

P.S. I love that you have buried your beloved pet on your property.
