The studio window is a hit with the plants and kitties...

The large window in my new studio office is proving to be a hit
with both the plants and the kitties!

(watercolor filter)
I picked up this cute "Blue Chalk Sticks" succulent the other day.
It was the perfect fit for this little blue green pot I've had for quite some time now.

The Infant of Prague might not stay here permanently as Baby tends to like this spot. And even though the statue is vintage and already quite chippy, I don't want Baby adding any more distressing to it!

This is a perfect window for Baby to sit in as she watches the buds burst forth as spring arrives! As you can see, I keep rearranging things in here to make sure
everything is Baby-proof!

I purchased this jade plant last fall when Amanda and I took a trip to Woodstock, New York. While there, we stopped at a yard sale and the woman was selling TONS of plants she'd started herself. She clearly had a green thumb as everything was gorgeous. I'm happy to report that I've not only not killed it, but it is thriving. I do need to find a nice pot for it, but it's an odd size so I haven't found one yet.

Until I do, it sits in the original black plastic pot in a tinfoil dish.

Tiger also enjoys looking out the window. On her trips back from the litter box
(located on the floor in the corner of the room)...

...  she always pauses on the top step to survey the goings on outside of her little world.

If something of interest is occurring outside (dogs being walked or cars going by), her attention stays focused on that even when she has returned to her bed.

As Baby was looking out the window today, she got spooked.
Baby does not like it when the UPS truck or the garbage truck...

....  or the street sweeper comes down 'her' street. Here in New England, after tons of sand has been dumped due to the many winter storms, the street sweeper is a sure sign that spring has arrived.

Of course as soon as the street sweeper was gone, she was back up on the desk checking out the smallest details of 'our' new studio office!

  1. awww, sweet little Tiger! I'm so glad she's happy in "her little corner of the world!"
My Infant of Prague statue was purchased from local Carmelite nuns who hand sewed a lovely dress for him and embroidered "Jesus" in fine gold thread on it. I've had it for about 40 years.
Your desk and the view beyond it looks so inviting!

  4. Plants and kitties. Two of my very favorite things here! That jade plant survived beautifully and the other new plant looks great, too.
Love that she's checking out YOUR (plural) new studio office, Donna. xo Diana

  5. Lovely...Cats Do ADORE windows. Our sits at the window watching the cat next door. She pretends to be Miss Kitty Boss of All and she'll give a little hiss now and then but deep down she's thinking "glad I'm in here".

    ...:)...

  8. Thank you for your kind comments over on my blog. It's lovely that Tiger and Baby seem happy to share your office space. My cat, Tom, doesn't believe in sharing! I'm afraid it gets him into far too many scrapes - even though he's just had his 12th birthday. I hope that you are well away from all the dreadful storms. Jx

  9. Twiggy and Twursula are also afraid of certain street noises. Thursday is trash day and in our county you have 3 trash cans -- all picked up by different trucks at different times. 3 times the fear factor! Then Fridays are street sweeping. Every Friday! They usually go hide under Amara's bed. Hug Baby and Tiger for us.

  11. My kitties love looking out the windows, too. And in my office, I have a desk right in front of a window. The cats love to sit on the desk and look outside. If I open the window, sometimes I'll find all 3 cats in a row on the desk, looking out that open window!

  13. It's great to have a window in your room to look out and have one where the kitties can sit and watch the world go by as your work. I am new to your blog and your newest follower.

  14. Your new studio is looking pretty good, and I love your little ones. I also love you big gorgeous window, I love looking out windows, I pull the curtains open during the day and hubs pulls them shut at night. Story of our life? Also our only cat left, Terminator (name appropriate) loves looking out the windows and pretends no one sees her, if only I could do the same!

  15. Donna, I enjoyed this post tonight more than I can tell you because it really touched home. My grandmother had canaries and, as a little Catholic girl (in my heart) I could really relate to how the Catholic decor makes you feel cozy and at home. I am your girlfriend-pal forever!

  16. Lovely cat as he stares at the window! The window light your room perfectly, can blame the cat why he loves to look outside.
