Shadow play...

 The window in my new studio office faces west...

... and as the late afternoon/early evening sun streams in, it creates beautiful shadows.

In this case, the beautiful vintage parakeet lamp that Claudia of Mockingbird Hill Cottage helped me find casts beautiful shadows on the wall.

The sun moves so quickly that the shadows fade away very quickly.

The rooter that hangs in this window with the sun streaming behind it...

... casts its own fleeting shadows...

... on the wall and door of the studio.

The bedroom is on the other side of the house...

... so it's the morning sun that creates window pane shadows on the sheer curtains in this room.

We are expecting gray skies and rain, so there will be no shadows for several days. Wishing you all a beautiful week, whether it is filled with sunny skies or gentle spring rains.

    Those are lovely pictures and a nice reminder to take time to notice the shadows that are so fleeting!

    some real nice shadow photos there. I love the pictures of Baby in the window!! Such a fluffy and beautiful kitty!! I love your clematis vine.......wow those are so gorgeous! I've never had one

    I so love your vintage bird lamp..I think I have said that before..but I do! I love love it! your post left me with a nastalgic feeling...hard to explain...but a feeling that as you were taking pic's...your heart and mind were wistful, perhaps thinking of loved ones..here and gone...something about it made me feel...that you needed a HUGE dose of sunshine to surround you...so I am sending a hug and love to you...(I have those moments as well) May your week brighten..may hope's and dreams and love fill you..may you know..what a gift you are to many...may laughter find you...and may you know someone thinks the world of you:) 'Me'

    Your shadow pictures are all very pretty. Photos like that really make me start to look around and find the shadows in my own life to photograph. I don't think I have anything as exciting to cast the shadows -- maybe a cat or three!

    I cannot decide if the effect is eerie or enchanting! Nonetheless - beautiful! Something lots of people just brush past every day without stopping to observe!
