The Hostas we planted several years ago by the backyard shed are in bloom right now.
The ones a little further over, in front of the tree house, have not started blooming yet.
I'm not sure if it has more to do with the fact that they are a different variety of Hosta, or whether it's because it's a tad shadier over by the tree house.
I never even think to sit over in this part of the yard when I go out in the evenings to unwind and enjoy the little critters and birds.
I really should because I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find the hummingbirds visiting these blooms on a regular basis.
We've had glorious weather today in New England. Our high humidity & high temps have broken.

A blissful day by anyone's standards!
Wishing you all have a lovely week!!
Donna
Your hostas look so beautiful. What is your trick to keep the slugs out? I have that trouble with mine every year.
ReplyDeleteI cut off the hosta flowers, yours are so pretty, I think I'll let mine bloom.
ReplyDeleteYour hostas are beautiful. I LOVE hostas. Those are the first real plants I ever planted as an adult! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love hostas
ReplyDeletekindly plants that many overlook or disdain as old lady plants
well, this old lady loves them...nice ones you have
I mix them up..small variegated,large
lovely photos
My hostas seem to bloom at different times, too. Isn't it wonderful to have the humidity gone? As long as the rain doesn't start up again, I can get some work down outside now!
ReplyDeleteHi Donna. I have tons of hostas, too, and guess what? They are all in bloom.
ReplyDeleteYours look nice, too. Susan
Your hostas are so pretty, I just love the purple blooms. The blooms press/dry nicely if interested. Around here I have to put netting over my hostas because the deer eat them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday to you,
Gina
I adore hosta blooms too. I miss our big bed of various hosta types that we had at our former cottage! And I see that Marty is quite a camera hog and keeps jumping into the framing of your photos, LOL.
