Limited Edition Hand Earrings Giveaway... Great Christmas Gift!

I'm SO sorry to be so late in posting the Hand Earring giveaway!
What is that old saying, "the hurrier I go, the behinder I get?" Yup, that's me!!!

I'm so excited to be hosting this giveaway for a pair of  "Hand Earrings" designed by my daughter, Amanda, and created by RA-HA Jewelry!

(Amanda wearing a pair of the earrings)

Together they came up with the most fabulous limited edition offering of 50 pairs of 'hand' earrings. Amanda was inspired by the hand-shaped earrings that Picasso created for Frida Kahlo.

(Sterling Silver pictured here)

These gorgeous earrings are available in 14K Gold Fill or Sterling Silver. They're extremely lightweight despite being large (approx. 3-1/4" long x 1-1/8" wide).

(Me wearing my hand earrings. I chose the Sterling Silver.)

They are so lightweight you won't even know you're wearing them! I absolutely love mine!

The earrings also come with this beautiful 5x7 line drawing print by Amanda. It features one of her vintage style women wearing the hand earrings. As you can see, I've already framed mine!

So if you would like to enter to win a pair of Limited Edition Hand Earrings:
- To be entered into the drawing once, please leave a comment here.
- To be entered into the drawing twice, please share this giveaway on your own blog and let me know!

The drawing will take place on the Tuesday, 12/12/17. If both colors are still available, you will have a choice of Silver or Gold. If not, you will receive the remaining color Amanda has in stock.

If you just can't wait to see if you win, click AmandaAtkins to be taken to the listing where you can purchase your Gold or Silver Hand Earrings right now.

See you on Tuesday!

'Twas the night before Christmas...

... and all through the house...

...not a creature was stirring...

... except Baby, the cat who loves Christmas!

We finally decorated our tree last night.

We've never waited this long to decorate before...

But it was worth the wait. We've been sitting and admiring it all day long.

It's always so much fun to get out our favorite ornaments, and reminisce.

Baby, pondering which ornament(s) she will attack first.

"Not me, Mommy. I'm going to be a good girl this year!"
(I'll believe that when I see it!)

Sure enough, Baby has been a good (albeit mischievous) girl and she knows that means she'll be getting something from Santa, so she's been waiting patiently for him to come down the chimney!

Oh! What's this? It looks as though Baby has finally heard "the prancing and pawing of each little hoof" up on the roof, so I'd better put out the cookies and milk and hop into bed myself!

From our family to yours, wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

The Miracle of Christmas...

And an angel appeared to Mary and said,

(Court, Christmas Angel, Nursery School Play, circa 1994)

"Rejoice, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!"

Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God."

(Amanda, Chirstmas Dove, Nursery School Play, circa 1990)

"And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus."

And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them...

(Circa 1950/1960 manger that beloned to my mom)

...and the glory of the Lord shone around them;
and they were terribly frightened.

And the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid;
for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy
which shall be for all the people;

...for today in the city of David there has been born
for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. "

"And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths, and lying in a manger."

Wishing you all a blessed,

... peace-filled Christmas.

Cardinals, Snowy Days, and Christmas...

... these are all things that remind me so much of my mom. She would have loved the snow that came down over the past 24 hours as she loved winter and watching snow fall...

(click any photos to enlarge - cardinal outside window today)

Mom also loved cardinals, and one showed up outside our dining room window today, sitting on a branch for the longest time...

Mom loved Christmas. She loved everything about it - decorating the house, singing Christmas carols, enjoying family, all of us riding around to look at Christmas lights, watching Christmas movies on TV, sending and receiving Christmas cards... everything about the season...

(Mom and my sister, Christmas in the 80's)

Every year her mirror was trimmed with holly, and Rudolph always had a place of honor right in the center...

Mom and Dad, Christmas 1957

Mom passed away 12 years ago today and was buried on Christmas Eve day. I didn't know how I would ever get through Christmas that year, let alone ever enjoy one again. Mom was always cheerful and happy, and the last thing she would have wanted was for us to be sad... Time is also a great healer... grief subsides and tears are eventually replaced by happy memories, shared stories, and laughter.
Anyhow, I thought about you a lot today, Mom... You loved snowy days, and watching the birds and squirrels (especially your cardinals!). You would have loved today, so I captured the day in photos for you... and I smiled as I thought about you...

Merry Christmas, Mom... We love you! You were, and always will be, the best Mom/Nana ever!

All my love, always...
