We've gotten off to a very slow start with decorating this year.
This is last year's tree. It was an artificial prelit tree that we'd used for about 5 years.
It was a magnificent tree - very wide around - which was a good thing because we have a LOT of ornaments!
By the end of last Christmas, unfortunately only half of the tree remained lit. We contemplated disconnecting all of the lights and stringing lights like we used to before this prelit tree came along.
But then, before lugging it out of the basement this year (it's a VERY heavy tree and hubby has a bad back), we found a prelit SLIM tree on sale. The fact that it was very lightweight weighed heavily in our decision to purchase it, as did the fact that our living room is the size of a shoe box and the old tree really did take up an awful lot of room.
So the slim tree went up....
... and looks just as lovely as the old tree, albeit much smaller.

We still haven't decorated the tree, and I think before we do I might move it over by the railing where we've always had our previous trees.
That is if I can convince Baby to leave her new favorite spot long enough to scoot it across the room!

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

That's a darling tree, Donna. Just darling.
ReplyDeleteI love your kitty. She's such a diva.
I have Honey Cat on today's post. (Thursday)
Take care. Susan
This is the only time of year cats think we are sensible. Bringing a tree indoors, putting a blanket under it and hanging a bunch of dangling toys is their idea of good home decor!
ReplyDeleteBaby looks very content in her new spot, and your slim tree is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteI can't say it any better than Maureen did. Darn thing is like a magnet to them. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMy cat always claims the tree as soon as it is up.
ReplyDeleteOur living is the size of a shoe box too! Your new tree looks so charming and what a cutie your kitty is.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
As long as Baby stays under the tree and not in it you should be all set.
ReplyDeleteI have not put mine up yet. I am sure Percy will topple it over at some point.
Have fun decorating. I have an artificial prelit that I love (as long as the lights stay on) (**. Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteYour tree is so lovely...and, oh, look at your darling kitty all snuggled beneath!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Merry Christmas!

She looks pretty comfortable there! She's waiting for some ornaments to bat around! :)
ReplyDeleteA slim tree is a good idea, Donna. As someone who also deals in small spaces, I think it's the way to go!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in this week!

Very pretty, Donna. Looks like Baby isn't too sure about those white kitties.
