The untamed garden...

Our poor little backyard garden...

 ... has been sorely neglected.

There as been no weeding, grass planting, gravel path making, or any of the projects we had planned for this year.

Thankfully none of the backyard critters or birds seem to mind.

They continue to visit us regularly, which is always such a delight! The birds and squirrels are constantly knocking my faux birdhouse off its pole. A simple project requiring some nails and glue, yet there never seems to be time.

The only thing being tended to in the garden this year is watering and changing the hummer's sugar water on a regular basis.

And, of course, filling the bird baths...

... and tossing peanuts. Mr. Blue Jay has made the tall birdhouse at the center of the garden his lookout tower when I toss peanuts into the yard.

Of course there are those who also prefer a lookout tower closer to the ground...

... as evidenced by this little guy...

... and this one.

I've been super busy with both transcribing and some other issues (sick car, sick hubby, and sick me) this past month, but there is light at the end of the tunnel so hopefully I'll be able to visit many of you in the near future!

And I'll definitely be sharing some photos of my Sammy's and Chip's in a future post.

This week I'm joining Brenda at Cozy Little House for Tweak it Tuesday and
Cindy at My Romantic Home for Show & Tell Friday.

Till next time, have a wonderful week!

Donna

So sweet! Looking for the blue jay in the third photo was a challenge - like a page out of Where's Waldo! - but I spotted him on the far left!
I just hope you feel well enough to do the things you enjoy best for the rest of the summer!

I know this is not what you envisioned for your garden but it is nice to see the yard in a natural state with all the wildlife enjoying it. Maybe we should all rethink how much change we want to make to nature's already perfect style!

Neglected or not your garden is still a delight for the birds that call it home

Kind of like OUR yard & flower beds :) In fact, the quote on my current post about "negligence" brought me great comfort.

It's been a season of surgery for hubby and me. We've just not had the oomph (nor lifting of restrictions) to get out there and DO it!

It looks beautiful whether you weeded or not! :) Sorry about the sickness / never fun.

I was hoping that all was well since you hadn't posted in awhile. When you visit around there was a tea party here that squirrels attended and they cracked me up...here's a smile for you :)

I think your yard and gardens still look lovely. So sorry to hear that you and your hubby have been sick and that you've had car issues. All yucky stuff!

It has been a long time since I dropped by. I do like the look of the untamed garden. It is like a small portion of the countryside in the city. It must be very pleasant to side outside there.
