The storm before the calm...

The blizzard has arrived...

After Saturday's snowstorm, the whiskey barrel was still visible. Not anymore.

There truly is a table under that mountain of snow...

A brave little junco sits on the railing.

There will be much shoveling to be done, for sure.

The mailboxes are almost completely covered.

So happy I made a ton of roasted vegetables and potatoes last night.
They will taste very good tonight.

I hope you are all staying warm and safe.

NOTE: To Gina, and anyone else - here's a link to a past post on roasted vegetables. A have to say, though, that I do fiddle around with the temperature a bit, usually between 400 and 450 degrees!

The Gallery Wall...

So last May -yes, 8 months ago -I wrote about the vintage Catholic gallery wall I planned to hang in my studio/office. Well...(hanging head in shame)... this is as far as I've gotten. I'm still arranging pieces before committing to permanent placement on the wall. This is just a tiny selection of some of the smaller pieces that will be intermingled with larger pieces.

And, of course, I now hear that gallery walls may be on the way out. How sad.

I love the eclectic gallery wall in our small split entry foyer.
But if gallery walls are going out of style, should I dismantle it?

NOPE!

I've always loved gallery walls. Heck, I liked them long before they were a "thing."
These photos show my mom and I in front of my apartment gallery wall back in 1979.

In fact, I hung groupings of the pastel chalk pet portraits
I created back then all over my apartment!
(Did anybody else have the "plumes" that were so popular back then?)

So, in any case, I'll continue with my painstakingly slow 'arrangement' process knowing that, in the end, I'll love it, even if gallery walls are "so yesterday" by the time I finish!

I hope you're all staying warm this winter. We've had some pretty cold temps, but VERY little snow here in Massachusetts, and for that I am very grateful!
Until next time, stay warm!
