Christmas in March...

This is our Christmas cactus right now...

...happily budding and blooming in the living room window.

This was it on Dec. 22nd, just before Christmas.

It was also budding and blooming back then.

That got me to wondering if I had a Christmas cactus...

...or an Easter cactus.

It's now sitting in a western exposure window, whereas at Christmastime, it was in the southern exposure dining room window (it had to be moved because the dining room window, with it's screen feeder, became Baby's bird viewing area).

So I decided to do a little on-line research...

... and I was correct. I definitely have a Christmas cactus.

Why it has started blooming again is beyond me, but I'm thrilled because it is so beautiful.

Here is an excellent article showing side-by-side photos and outlining the differences between a Christmas cactus and an Easter cactus, just in case any of you might have the same question.
I'm linking up to Show & Tell Friday at Cindy's My Romantic Home. Be sure to pop over to see what everyone is sharing this week!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Camelot...

"Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot,
for one brief, shining moment that was known as Camelot."

The cherry tree in the back yard was in full bloom....

And the crab trees in the front yard were covered with blossoms..

It's such a PRETTY time here in New England!! It's unusual that our cherry and crab trees bloomed profusely at precisely the same time, but that's exactly what they did this year and the yard took on the most magical look! Yesterday's strong winds, however, wreaked havoc with the delicate apple blossoms so we must now refer to them in the past tense...

These pictures were taken over the weekend and I offer them as evidence that Camelot really did exist, if only "for one brief, shining moment! "
