Shabby Chic shade bargain...and an Award!

I love the combination of pink and creamy white!


So when I spotted this lampshade at The Christmas Tree Shop last month, I was very tempted... Such sweet pink trim, and the prettiest scallops at the top and bottom...


It's a nice big shade, perfect for a floor lamp, so when I spotted the $4.99 price tag I snapped it up in a hurry!


It's perfect for the reading lamp next to the living room wing chair.

And I also received an "I Love Your Blog" award from Shirley at Plum Bush Cottage! Thank you, Shirley! You should check out Shirley's blog (great decorating ideas and recipes!!)


I have linked back to Shirley's blog and now I'm supposed to list seven other blogs that I LOVE - but that's so difficult! I love so many, and for such a variety of reasons! So I'm going to pass on handing out the award; instead I want to tell all of you whose blogs I read that "I love your blog!!!". I don't always have time to leave comments (I need time management tips from some of you), but I do take the time to visit and I so enjoy your posts, photos, recipes, information, tips, kids and pet stories, decorating ideas, and so much more! There's one in every crowd...

Everyone's getting into the Halloween spirit at our little cottage!


Living Room Floor Lamp asked if she could please borrow Witchy Woman's hat...


Paired with this little mask, she now feels like the Belle of the Ball!


(Note: This is a seldom-used lamp in our living room... I don't recommend "dressing up" lamps that are actually used!!)

Shades of pink....

Lampshades of pink that is!


I bought this cute scalloped lampshade at TJ Maxx several years ago for our living room floor lamp... A bit of pink in the living room is a must, right?


This smaller lampshade coordinated with one above and I loved the prism fringe, so it came home with me that same day. It adds a nice touch of pink to the family room.


This little lamp has been around for years! I bought it for Court's nursery (she's now in college!) She eventually outgrew it, so I'm now using it in my office (which is her old nursery... It even sits in the very same spot, next to the window... Just goes to show that sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same!!)


And last, but not least, this pair of "vintage junktique" lamps came with these beautiful pink pleated lampshades. They sit on either side of my office bookcase (there's lots of pink here in the office!).
