Ironing is a breeze on this combination step stool / chair / ironing board. It blends into the 'cottage' nicely with its little pink flowered chair pad and IB cover... The wood was originally stained dark brown, but I took some white paint to it and I like it much better now...
When it's time to iron, I just tilt the top, tighten a few wing nuts and - voila! Instant ironing board... (Flip it over all the way and it's a step stool.)
It sits in the 'awkward' corner (as I call it) of our family room, always ready to provide extra seating if necessary... I've had it for about 6 years now and, boy, I don't miss the days of lugging the old ironing board out of the closet to set it up. This is pretty effortless!
SECOND - PINK READING
You must pick up the latest copy of ROMANTIC HOMES if you love pink! I got mine at the grocery store today... Just look at that gorgeous cover - it's from a wonderful spread on Cathy's home, beautifully decorated for Christmas! You can visit Cathy at Treasured Heirlooms.
THIRD - PINK TOOLBOXES
Back in September, I posted about my pink toolbox, and several people commented on it.
Well, last week I got a "Collections Etc." catalogue in the mail, and look what they have in stock! Just click on the photo to go directly to their website....
Now I know you are wanting to see lots more PINK today, so be sure to visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound, where you'll find her PINK Saturday item as well as a list of all the other participating blogs... Happy PINK SATURDAY everyone!!!

I just adore that ironing board!!
I do love the tool box, chickee! Also the ironing board. I've been trying to figure out how to keep the ironing board up all the time for "touchups" but it's just not possible with the room we have in our home. *Sigh*....... Maybe this could be a solution though. Like you, I hate dragging it out every time I need to iron, BUT I have covered it with a rose fabric!!
Smooches,
Connie
That is one handy dandy seat/step-stool/ironing board! Who'd a thunk you could have all 3 in 1? Love the pink tools...I have seen those around for sometime now and have seriously considered getting them.

What a great way to not have to put the ironing board up. Did you make the little slipcover for it? It looks so pretty in the corner of your room. Nobody would ever know it is really for ironing. laurie

All your pinks are beautiful - I can't wait to find the magazine, it is one of my favorites. Happy Pink Saturday to you.
I just love that ironing board! I like things that are double duty, and this is triple duty! It's nice to have it right out in the open like that.
I've got to check out that magazine. I also like the pink tools! I need to get some of those someday. Maybe my boys will quit steaing my tools!

love, Love, LOVE the dancing with the stars pic, it really made my day :o) The ironing board reminds me of my Gaga's stepstool and how handy it was.
Every home in my childhood neighborhood - all identical, and built during WWII, in the SF Bay Area -- had a tall narrow cabinet on one kitchen wall, slipped in between the studs the same way medicine cabinets are installed. And inside each cabinet was a wooden fold-out ironing board. A perfect solution, and modern as all get-out in the 1940s.
By the time I was born in 1955, virtually every single neighbor had "modernized" their kitchens, removing the ironing board and replacing it with wooden shelves to hold spices and bottles and other such small stuff. The handy kitchen ironing board was replaced with an ultra-modern portable (ha!) metal-legged ironing board, that most of my neighbors set up in their living rooms, so they could iron while watching "Password" and "Queen For A Day." Thinking about it now, I'll bet television was the direct cause of the demise of the built-in ironing board ... no one owned *that* many spices :o)

I love your ironing board.
Happy Belated Pink Saturday!
