Happy endings....

This afternoon's excitement:

I just love happy endings!

(And I love this vintage 8mm slide show maker! Maybe lots of you are already familiar with it, but one of my clever daughters just introduced me to it! Have fun with it yourself by following the "Make Your Own" link!)

Both of my girls are animal lovers, and while watching Amanda with the blackbird in this little 8mm slide show, it brought to mind one of my favorite Emily Dickinson quotes:

"If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain; if I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain; or help one fainting robin into his nest again, I shall not live in vain." ~Emily Dickinson

Song: Blackbird by The Beatles

Awwwwww, that IS a happy ending! Much happier than the poor bird who flew into my office/craft room window! He didn't get to fly away at all. I really hate when that happens.

So glad there was a happy ending. I think it's so sweet your daughter sat there and pet the bird until he was ok to fly away.

Love the 8mm show too. How fun.

Hugs,
Joanne

That's so very cool! My daughter has one of these slideshow things on her MySpace. What a rare and precious event to have a bird close enough to touch...even if he was a bit knocked out at first!

Hi Donna!
That is the sweetest thing! Your daughter has such a special touch when it comes to animals, a special gift for sure! I love the poem by Emily Dickenson, one of my favorites.
My youngest son has that same special touch with animals. It's like they know this person only wants to help and comfort them.
Please stop by and enter my giveaway Donna! I'd love for you to have a chance at a prize!!
Hugs, Sherry
