Vintage Mary Garden Statuary and the Flowering Cherry Tree

I'm sharing mostly photos of our cherry tree today...

...because before long, the blossoms will be but a memory.

The yard is carpeted, as it is every year, with pink cherry blossoms.

Just a couple of days ago there wasn't a single blossom on the ground.
What a difference a day or two makes.

My beautiful vintage Mary garden statuary stands under the cherry tree, watching over our small backyard and all the creatures who visit; in this instance, the Sammy who is up on the deck and the male hummingbird on the feeder.

Some ground cover that we planted last year has come to life.

Spring is such a beautiful time of year.

Here's Sammy visiting the bird bath.

From the street leading up to our house, you can see the flowering cherry tree spreading out over the stockade fence.

The oak trees always take a bit longer to leaf out.

You can easily spot the cherry tree from the DR window when it's in bloom.

The pink is more striking than it shows in these photos.

This past winter, I wasn't sure if we'd ever see green again.

Welcome, beautiful Spring!

Donna- I am back and playing catch up. What a beautiful little slice of Heaven you have there. Spring is looking great for you. We are supposed to get down to 32 tonight! Unbelievable. xo Diana

Oh yes, Donna. We all welcome spring so much! What a beautiful season.

Your cherry tree is lovely. I recently saw two weeping cherry trees and they are lovely, as well.

Oh! There was a cardinal in our feeders today and two goldfinches yesterday! So thrilled the birdies are finally coming. Susan

Spring is a beautiful time of year. Everywhere popping with color that's been held at bay with winter's hold. I just love your DR window, our dinning room window looks over our side yard, where no trees are. You've got a great view.

Such a beautiful tree, Donna! I love seeing those petals on the ground. Nature is the best designer, don't you think?

Those oak trees are just huge! I can't imagine what they would look like covered in leaves! That is another thing you never see in southern California that I miss.

It is all very pleasant, and a nice place to sit outside. I do not know which I like best the Spring or the Autumn with the colored tree leaves.

I love cherry blossoms, I think they're so full of hope for what is to come. Is it me or does the weather change to wind and rain the minute the blossoms appear!?
